Ceramics - Thrown Forms
I began working on the wheel about two years ago. I took a class at the local community center, and immediately fell in love. Throwing pottery is meditation for me, but more than that. It's a place for me to completely turn off my brain, even just momentarily. It pushes me out of my comfort zone and is always a challenge. It grounds me. The connection I feel between the earth, my ancestors, and myself is almost spiritual- even though I'm not much for that usually. It moves me. Every time I sit at the wheel I'm grateful.
I love to experiment so as you browse you will see a large variety of work! I'm always growing and each piece is better than the last. Generally on the wheel I focus on functional pottery- creating forms that can be utilized in daily life. I've made everything from plates to teapot, bongs to bowls. I'm forever a student, and the clay (and kiln) humble me on a daily basis.
